Overview
Triptease Messages let you place personalized content exactly where it matters on your website - whether your guests are browsing on desktop or mobile. You can use the placement selection tool within Creative Builder to fine-tune where and how your message appears.
Recommended approach:
Design First: Build out your message with all key elements (text, images, etc.) in Creative Builder.
Place and Adjust: Use the placement tool to position your message on your website, then return to Creative Builder to refine the layout.
Pro tip: Inline messages are responsive which means that, like your website, they adapt to the size of the web browser each visitor uses. That means the message size and layout might look different in the Creative Builder on your site - it depends on what size browser you use for the preview. We recommend trying various different sizes when you preview!
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Create Your Message
Go to Campaign Manager and start a new campaign.
Choose an Inline Template template and open it in Creative Builder.
Add all the design elements you want (text, image, buttons, etc.).
Pro tip: Set image blocks to Full width for better responsiveness. Use Fixed size for logos or icons to prevent stretching. This option is already enabled in any template where an image or icon is included by default.
2. Select Message Placement
Click the Settings tab.
Select "Set Position" to open the placement selector tool.
Placing on Desktop
Enter the URL of the page where you want the message to appear.
Your site will open in a new browser tab. If a QR code appears, you are viewing the mobile version of the message (you can switch to desktop via the menu header).
Click Select Placement and Point-and-click to select the exact element where you'd like to place the message.
Choose one of the following placement options: Before element, After element and Replace element
Click Confirm position, then return to Creative Builder. The selected position will now be reflected in the builder.
Placing on Mobile
After entering the page URL, a QR code will appear. If it doesn’t, make sure you’re viewing the mobile version.
Scan the QR code with your phone to open the mobile version of your website.
Accept any cookie banners to ensure the placement selector appears.
Tap to select the desired element for placement.
Confirm the position - your mobile selection will sync back to Creative Builder automatically.
Setting Different Placements for Desktop and Mobile
By default, device sync for inline messages is turned off to encourage separate desktop and mobile placements, as page structures often differ between devices. Keeping them separate helps ensure inline messages appear exactly where intended. If the page structure is the same and you want changes to sync across devices, you can enable this option.
Open the Settings tab in Creative Builder.
Toggle Device Sync ON.
Final Steps
Adjust content sizing for responsiveness, especially on mobile.
Preview the message on both desktop and mobile.
Set your targeting rules (page filters, audience conditions).
Save and publish your campaign.

Pro Tips
Design before you place: It's easier to see how your message fits with all elements already added.
Responsive design: Use "Full" for image widths unless you're working with icons or logos.
Set page filters: Use Web Page Targeting to control which pages your message appears on.
One placement per message: Want the same message on multiple pages? Duplicate the message and set placements on these pages.
Multiple Inlines supported: You can add more than one Inline Message to a page.

Why isn't my placement syncing?
Double-check that you've confirmed the position in the inline widget on your website.
I cant add to campaign or preview my messages.
Ensure that you have set position first before clicking add to campaign or using the preview function.
