Overview
Price Match discounts your direct rate using a promo code so your direct price can beat the Online Travel Agents (OTAs) you compete with. Your Price Match settings are where these promo codes live, alongside the OTAs you match against and any rate filters. Triptease checks each code automatically and shows you whether it is working, so you can see at a glance which codes are ready to use. The page covers both Metasearch Price Match and On-site Price Match in one place.
How to open your Price Match settings
Go to Settings > Property Settings, choose your hotel, open Hotel Profile, then open the Price Match card under Configure Products.
Editing is available to Admins by default, and to Creators or Viewers who have the "configure property-level pricing settings" capability. Without it, you see the page in read-only mode.
How it works
Your Price Match settings have these areas:
Configure OTAs — the OTAs you want Price Match to compete against, up to the number your contract allows.
Promo code applicability — whether your codes apply to the base rate or the total rate, to match how your booking engine displays prices.
Promo codes — the codes Triptease uses to discount your direct rate. You can add, pause, and resume codes here.
Configure rate filters — an optional rule that tells Price Match which of your booking engine rates the promo codes should apply to. This must match how the codes are set up in your booking engine.
Quick Setup — if you manage more than one hotel, import a Price Match configuration from another property in your account.
The promo code table has a row for each code, showing its Discount %, its Status, when it was Last checked, and a short Details summary. Open View details on any code to see the full check.
Each code has one of four statuses:
LIVE — the code has passed its checks and Price Match can use it.
PAUSED — the code has been switched off manually. Price Match will not use it until it is set live again. Triptease never changes a paused code on its own.
SUSPENDED — a check found a problem, so Triptease has automatically switched the code off to protect your rates. Price Match will not use it until it passes again.
CHECKING — a check is currently running. This is temporary and will resolve to one of the statuses above.
Triptease re-checks your live and suspended codes automatically on a regular basis, and you can trigger a fresh check at any time with Recheck.
Common questions
Q: What is the difference between PAUSED and SUSPENDED?
A: PAUSED means someone switched the code off manually, and Triptease will leave it alone. SUSPENDED means an automatic check found a problem and switched the code off for you. A suspended code turns back to LIVE on its own once it passes its checks again.
Q: My code says LIVE but the details mention an error. Is something wrong?
A: No. A code stays LIVE unless a check finds a genuine problem with the discount. Notes about an error or no availability mean Triptease could not complete a check on those dates — not that the code is broken.
Q: How often are my codes checked?
A: Triptease checks your live and suspended codes automatically on a regular basis. You can also run a check yourself at any time using the Recheck action next to a code.
Q: Do I manage promo codes here or in my booking engine?
A: Both. The codes themselves are created and controlled in your booking engine, but you add them to Price Match, pause them, and resume them here — and you can see whether each one is working.
Q: Why is my page read-only?
A: Editing requires the Admin role, or the "configure property-level pricing settings" capability on a Creator or Viewer role. Without it, you can view your setup but not change it. Ask your account Admin to update your permissions.
Q: Can I turn Price Match on or off from this page?
A: No. Turning Price Match on or off for a hotel is handled by Triptease — contact your Customer Success Manager. This page manages the configuration of Price Match once it is switched on.
