The specific behaviour of each Notification depends on which type it is. The Searcher and Booker Notifications display differently to Location Notifications for example. Here’s a breakdown of where and when each notification appears:

Booker Notification

These notifications only display on the booking engine, and only when the number of bookers in the past 24 hours is above three. A booker notification will never be shown when the booker number is below three bookers because these notifications are intended to give customers a sense of the popularity of the hotel - a low number won’t do that. Once a visitor has dismissed a booker notification they won’t see it again during the same 30 minute visitor session.

If both the Booker and Searcher Notifications are eligible to be shown, the Booker Notification takes priority. Two notifications will not be shown at the same time.

Searcher notification

These notifications only display on the booking engine, and only when the number of searchers in the past 24 hours is above ten. Similarly to the Booker Notification, a Searcher Notification will never be shown when the searcher number is below 10 searches. Once a visitor has dismissed a searcher notification they won’t see it again during the same 30 minute visitor session.

Location notification

These notifications will only display when a visitor is sufficiently engaged with your property. Specifically, they have to have been on your website for at least 30 seconds and viewed at least two pages. Like Searcher and Booker Notifications, once a visitor has dismissed a Location Notification they won’t see it again during the same 30 minute visitor session. Location Notifications will not display on your booking engine.
