The first step to increasing your direct bookings is getting your parity in check.
The Parity Monitoring dashboard displays all upcoming itineraries that your guests have searched for on your website, along with the price they saw on your site and the prices offered by the OTAs for the same itinerary. This allows you to quickly survey which dates you're being undercut on so you can get parity issues resolved fast.
Dealing with OTA undercuts: A step-by-step guide
View your undercuts
Select the Parity Insights section in the Triptease Platform which can be found under Pricing Intelligence in the navigation bar. This takes you to the Parity Manager dashboard. Here you'll see an overview of your current parity status across your portfolio, as well as how your prices compare to specific OTAs, and on specific properties within your group.Deep dive into specific undercuts
Select the Parity Table button at the top of the Parity Manager page - this takes you to the Parity Monitoring page where you’ll see a table showing all OTA prices we've seen recently over upcoming itineraries your guests have searched for on your website. You can filter this list to show only undercuts by selecting the Parity Status filter found by the top right corner of the table.
Inspect each undercutting OTA price in more detail
Click on a row in the table to see further information about the direct and OTA prices being compared. Here you'll see the room and rate type information from the direct site, as well as screenshots we've taken of the each OTA site where we saw the undercutting price.Contact the OTA
If you find that the OTA is still undercutting you on that date, contact your account manage at the relevant OTA. You can download a screenshot of the undercutting price from the Parity Monitoring dashboard to send to them if needed.
