How do I know if I have both Classic and New Messages live?

Learn how to check which Classic and New Messages are live, avoid duplicates, and keep campaigns clear while testing the new platform.

Updated this week

Quick Summary

As you explore the upgraded Triptease Messages platform, you have the flexibility to keep Classic Messages live while trying out new campaigns. To help you stay in control and avoid any surprises, here’s how to check which messages are active in each dashboard.

When to Use This

Use this guide if you:

  • Are testing New Messages alongside older Classic Messages

  • Want to avoid showing duplicate or conflicting content

  • Need to confirm exactly what’s running on your site

How to Check

Follow these simple steps to see whether you have active messages in both platforms.

1. Go to the Classic Messages Dashboard

  1. From your main Triptease navigation, open the Classic Messages dashboard you're used to using.

  2. Look for any Classic messages with the Status set to Live.

  3. If you plan to replace them with New Messages, click Pause to avoid overlap.

  4. Check under the page sub-title to see how many messages are also live in the New version of Messages

Tip: Classic Messages will continue running unless you manually pause or remove them, even if you publish a replacement in New Messages.

2. Check the New Messages Campaign Manager

  1. In Campaign Manager, scroll to the bottom of the page.

  2. You’ll see a list of all campaigns, including:

    • Campaign name

    • Status (e.g., Draft, Live)

    • Start date

  3. Look for any campaigns showing Live status.

  4. Use the pencil icon to enter a campaign in Edit mode and see which messages are live

Tip: If you have messages here that duplicate your Classic Messages, consider pausing the old versions.

3. Cross-Check and Review

If you see Live statuses in both dashboards:

  • You have active messages from both platforms on your website.

  • If the messages target the same position, only one will display (depending on which loads first).

  • If they target different positions, both may appear at the same time.

This is why we recommend reviewing both dashboards regularly—especially when recreating existing campaigns.

FAQs

Question: Is there an automatic warning if I have messages live in both systems?

Answer: Notifications are available in the Classic Message dashboard and when you create a campaign in New Messages. But we recommend manually checking each dashboard to be sure.

Q: Can I keep some Classic Messages live while I test new ones?

A: Yes, you can. Just be sure they don’t overlap in content or position to avoid confusion for your guests.

Q: What happens if both messages target the same placement?

A: Only one will display. Which one shows depends on which loads first on the page.
