Overview
The campaign builder in Triptease Messages has been redesigned to bring targeting, creative editing, and message management onto a single screen. Each message in a campaign now has its own targeting and its own status — you can publish one message, keep another in draft, and pause a third, all within the same campaign. A new campaign review screen gives you a full message-by-message overview before anything goes live.
This flow is now the default for all Messages campaigns. No action is required — when you create a new campaign, you'll be taken through it automatically.
How to create a Messages campaign
Step 1: Create a new campaign In Campaign Manager, click Create V2 Message or Create V1 message. You'll land on a refreshed template library where you can select one or more message templates in one go. Choose the templates you want and proceed.
Step 2: Configure targeting per message You'll arrive at the campaign builder — a single screen showing all your messages with large previews. Click the targeting button on any message to open the targeting side panel. Targeting is organised into clear tabs (including the new Location exclude option). Repeat for each message — targeting is set independently per message, not shared across the campaign.
Step 3: Edit message creative Click the design button on any message to enter the Creative Builder for that message. Make your edits and save. Return to the campaign builder and repeat for any other messages you want to customise.
Step 4: Review and publish When you're ready, click through to the campaign review screen. This shows a full overview of every message in the campaign and its current status. From here, you can publish, pause, or leave individual messages in draft. You don't have to publish everything at once — you can go live with one message while keeping others in draft for testing or phased rollout.
What's changed from the previous flow
If you're familiar with the previous campaign builder, here's what's different:
Targeting is now per message, not per campaign. Each message has its own targeting rules. Open the targeting side panel on any message to configure it.
Each message has its own status. You can publish, pause, or draft individual messages independently within the same campaign.
Everything is on one screen. Targeting and creative editing are accessible from the campaign builder without navigating away.
Location exclude targeting is new. You can now exclude specific locations from a message's targeting rules, under the Location tab in the targeting side panel.
The template library supports multi-select. You can choose multiple templates in one step when starting a new campaign.
A review screen has been added. Before publishing, you can see a full message-by-message overview of the campaign.
Limitations to be aware of
This flow currently applies to Messages campaigns only. If you're creating Date Boost or interest-targeted campaigns for metasearch or paid search, those continue to use the previous flow for now. Triptease will bring those channels into the new design in a future update.
Existing Messages campaigns have been migrated to the new format. Existing metasearch and paid search campaigns are unchanged.
Common questions
Q: Can I have one message live and another paused in the same campaign?
A: Yes. Each message now has its own status. From the campaign review screen, you can publish, pause, or keep individual messages in draft independently.
Q: Can I target different audiences with different messages in the same campaign?
A: Yes. Open the targeting side panel on any message and configure it independently. Messages in the same campaign do not need to share the same targeting.
Q: How do I exclude a location from my targeting?
A: Open the targeting side panel on the message you want to configure, and click the Location tab. You'll see the option to exclude specific locations alongside the standard include rules.
Q: Do I need to do anything to my existing campaigns?
A: No action is needed. Existing Messages campaigns have been migrated automatically. Metasearch and paid search campaigns are unchanged and continue to use the previous flow.
Q: Why can't I find metasearch or paid search in the new campaign builder?
A: The new flow currently applies to Messages campaigns only. Support for metasearch and paid search is coming in a future update.
