What are segment targeted campaigns?

Segment targeting allows you to focus your campaigns on guests with specific interests across Meta, Paid Search and Onsite Messages. There are now 36 guest interest segments available to target in Triptease Messages, up from 6 broad categories, along with additional condition types covering named holidays, day of the week, and domestic versus international guests.

Instead of targeting everyone searching for hotels, you can concentrate on the segments most relevant to your property.

On Meta and Paid Search, this means you can put additional ad budget towards targeting these guests to bring more of them to your website, and via Onsite Messages you can further tailor your communication to these guests, giving you the opportunity to communicate personalized offers, promotions, or other relevant information.

This is powered by Triptease Audiences, a cross-hotel data network that combines anonymised guest behaviour across thousands of hotel websites. Many hotels struggle with audience size thresholds when targeting through platforms like Google, but with Triptease Audiences, even smaller or independent hotels can access powerful interest segments. This gives you a strategic advantage you can apply to your direct marketing channels.

Please note: targeting conditions cannot be changed at the global campaign level, but rather must be applied on a channel by channel basis within a campaign for maximum flexibility and precision.

Targeting conditions in Triptease Messages

As of August 2026, four condition types are available when building a Messages campaign in Campaign Manager or the Triptease Agent. Conditions can be combined, so an audience can be narrowed to something like an international guest interested in the spa whose stay covers Easter.

  • Interests (36 tags). Choose from 31 specific interests (such as Spa, Weddings, or Gift vouchers) or 5 broader overview interests (such as Wellness or Experiences) for pages that span several themes. Interests are resolved per hotel from the specific page a visitor is on. Two previous interests have been retired: events (replaced by Weddings, Conferences and meetings, Live Entertainment, Celebration, and Experiences) and luxury (no direct replacement; the closest condition is Suites and premium rooms).

  • Named holiday stay spans. Target a named holiday rather than typing its dates. Available holidays include Christmas, Gregorian New Year, Easter, Valentine's Day, US Thanksgiving, Canadian Thanksgiving, Diwali, Lunar New Year, Hanukkah, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha. Dates are resolved automatically.

  • Day of the week. Target a stay by the days its nights fall on. Choose whether any night falls on the selected days (matches any stay overlapping them) or every night falls on them (matches only stays entirely within them). There is no single "weekend" value; select the relevant days for your market.

  • Domestic or international. One condition that compares the country the visitor is browsing from against the country of the hotel they are viewing. Note: if either country cannot be determined, the visitor will not match either domestic or international.
