How can I change the display frequency of my message?

You can control how often each guest sees a message using Frequency Capping.

When to use different frequency settings

You can set message frequency however you'd like. Here are some common use cases:

Show on every page visit

  • Book Direct benefits / OTA price comparison messages

  • Critical service updates

  • Legal disclaimers

  • Flash sales or urgent offers

Show periodically

  • Room upgrade promotions (every 24–48 hours)

  • Seasonal campaigns (weekly reminders)

Show until the guest closes message

  • Mobile app download prompts

  • Newsletter sign-ups

  • Use longer cooldowns to respect guest choice

Custom frequency settings

  • Loyalty program sign-ups (daily unless closed, 30-day cooldown)

  • Special rate alerts (high frequency, long cooldown after close)

  • Booking incentives (e.g. daily view, pause 7 days after dismissal)


How it works

Frequency controls how often a guest will see a message. You can choose from:

Show on every page visit

Message displays each time a guest visits a targeted page.

Show periodically

Message reappears after a set interval (e.g. every 1 day), even if the guest previously saw or dismissed it.

Show until guest closes message

Message shows until closed. After that, it won’t appear again until the cooldown period ends.

Custom frequency settings

Set two independent rules:

  • How often to show if the message is not closed

  • How long to wait before showing again after the message is closed


How to set or change frequency

  1. Create your message

    Use a template and finish your message setup.

  2. Return to the Creatives step

    After saving, go back to the Creatives dashboard in the campaign manager.

  3. Click “Refine targeting”

    On the message card, select Refine targeting.

  4. Open the “Frequency” section

    Choose your preferred frequency option:

    • Every page visit

    • Periodically

    • Until closed

    • Custom frequency settings

  5. Click “Confirm”

    Your frequency settings will be saved and applied.


Default behavior

Templates come with built-in frequency defaults based on message type.

You can override these at any time in Refine targetingFrequency.

  • Use short intervals for urgent messages

  • Use long cooldowns for opt-ins or low-priority prompts
