Email and data capture in V2 messages

This article explains how to add an Email Capture block to a message in Triptease Messages, and how to access and download the contact details your guests submit.

Overview

The Email Capture block lets you collect contact details from guests while they're actively browsing your website. Add it to any message in the Creative Builder to create an on-brand data capture form — choosing which fields to include, which to make required, and how to present your consent copy. All submissions are collected in the Guest emails page, where you can filter and download them as a CSV to use in your preferred marketing tool.

Email Capture is available to all Triptease Messages users with no additional setup required.

How to add an Email Capture block to a message

  1. Open the Creative Builder for the message you want to edit (or create a new campaign and select a pre-built email capture template from the template library).

  2. Add the Email Capture block to your message layout.

  3. Choose which fields to include. Email address is the only required field — you can optionally add Title, First Name, Last Name, and Phone Number. Phone number fields include a country code selector.

  4. For each additional field, use the "Is a required input" toggle to set whether it must be completed before the form can be submitted.

  5. Configure the Terms & Conditions consent checkbox — edit the copy and add a link to your privacy policy. The consent section is mandatory by default and cannot be removed.

  6. Preview your design on both desktop and mobile in the Creative Builder, then save and publish.

The Email Capture block works with all three message container types: collapsible, dismissible, and inline.

How to access and download guest submissions

  1. In the left-hand navigation, go to Guest emails (under Market Insights).

  2. Use the filters to narrow submissions by hotel, message, or date range.

  3. Click Download to export a CSV for import into your CRM or email marketing platform.

The Guest emails page collects submissions from both Classic (v1) and new (v2) Messages campaigns in one place.

⚠️ Download permissions are not enabled by default. To protect guest data, the ability to download contact details must be explicitly granted by an Admin for each user individually — including other Admins. The permission is called "Download personal information about guests" and must be enabled in user settings before the CSV download option becomes available.

Common questions

Q: Which message types can include an Email Capture block?

A: The block works with all three container types in Triptease Messages: collapsible, dismissible, and inline messages. It works on both desktop and mobile.

Q: Can I control which fields are required?

A: Yes. Every field except email has an "Is a required input" toggle. Email is always required. You can make any combination of the optional fields (Title, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number) required or optional.

Q: Can I customise the consent checkbox copy?

A: Yes. The consent section is mandatory and cannot be removed, but you can edit the copy and add a link to your privacy policy to help meet GDPR and other privacy requirements.

Q: Can I customise what guests see after submitting the form?

A: Not yet — the post-submission confirmation copy is not configurable in this release.

Q: Is Email Capture available in multiple languages?

A: Yes. Field labels, placeholder text, and button copy can be localised to match the languages your website supports.

Q: Can submitted data be pushed to my CRM automatically?

A: Not yet for v2 Messages — CRM integration is planned for a future update. In the meantime, download the CSV from the Guest emails page and import it manually. If you are using Classic Messages with an existing CRM integration, that continues to work as before.

Q: Is there a limit on how many submissions I can capture? A: No.

Q: I can't see the download button on the Guest emails page — why?

A: The download permission must be explicitly granted by an Admin. Ask your account Admin to enable "Download personal information about guests" for your user in account settings.
