  6. Choose a name for your audience (e.g. Black Friday List, Early Christmas Sign-ups).

  7. Fill in the required fields, including the audience's contact information and any additional information you want to collect.

  8. Click on the "Save" button to create your new audience.

For more information on creating audiences in Mailchimp, you can visit their support page which provides detailed instructions and tips.

You can now begin to connect Mailchimp to your Email Capture messages. To access this feature, go to Audience Intelligence from the Triptease Platform and in the dropdown menu click CRM connectivity.

Select Mailchimp in the Choose a CRM list and name the integration that is easily identifiable. We recommend you use the same same as your Mailchimp contact list for easy identification.

Copy your Mailchimp API key

  1. Head to Mailchimp

  2. Click on your profile name or avatar in the top right corner of the page.

  3. Select "Account" from the dropdown menu.

  4. Click on the "Extras" dropdown menu, then select "API keys".

  5. If you have not created an API key yet, click on "Create A Key". If you have already created an API key, skip to step 7.

  6. Enter a name for your API key and click on the "Create" button.

  7. You will see a list of all your API keys. Locate the API key that you want to use and click on the "Copy" button to the right of it.

  8. Paste the API key into the field where it needs to be used.

Copy your Mailchimp Audience ID

  1. Head to Mailchimp

  2. Click on the "Audience" tab in the top navigation menu.

  3. Click on "All Contacts" in the drop-down menu.

  4. Click on the settings gear icon in the top right corner of the page.

  5. Select "Audience name and defaults" from the drop-down menu.

  6. Your Audience ID will be displayed on this page, under "Unique id for audience."

To find your Audience ID, head to Mailchimp and click Audience then All contacts. Click the settings drop-down and choose Audience name and defaults.

In the Audience ID section, you will see a string of letters and numbers. This is your Audience ID.

Don't forget your tags!

Tags help you label and categorize your contacts based on data you know about them e.g. Family

Using your CRM integration when creating an Email Capture message

  1. Create a new Email Capture Message or select an existing Email Capture Message(s)

  2. In the ‘Behaviour’ tab, you’ll notice a new field called ‘Send to CRM’

  3. Select the CRM configuration from the dropdown. This should be the contact list you want to store the guest emails in within your Mailchimp dashboard. (That’s why we recommend keeping the name simple and consistent).

  4. You can select multiple Contact Lists. This will send the guest emails to all the associated configurations (Contact Lists) in your Mailchimp dashboard.

  5. That’s the CRM part done! Now you can continue with your message creation process - add targeting, create your design, review… and publish!

  6. It’s a good idea to do a test email to make sure you’ve connected to the correct Contact List in your Mailchimp dashboard.

Email Capture Messages with automatic CRM integration is available to hoteliers using the Triptease Data Marketing Pro package. Learn more about the Triptease Data Marketing Platform here, and get in touch with the Triptease team today if you'd like access to this feature.
