Overview
Triptease is added to your Mews booking engine through a Google Tag Manager (GTM) container — not directly in Mews. If you already have a GTM container loaded on your Mews booking engine, add the Triptease script to it. If you don't, create one first.
How to add the script
If you don't already have a Google Tag Manager (GTM) container, create one. See How to Create a Google Tag Manager (GTM) Container.
Copy your Triptease script from the platform: Settings → Group settings → Integration scripts.
Add the Triptease script to your GTM container as a Custom HTML tag triggered on All Pages.
In your Mews booking engine settings, go to Services → Stay → Booking Engines.
Add the GTM Container ID (the same one containing the Triptease tag).
Save the settings.
Check the install is working using the Test Your Integration tool in the Triptease platform (Settings → Group settings → Integration scripts → Test Your Integration) — paste in your URL and run the test. If you'd prefer the Customer Support team to confirm for you, email customersupport@triptease.com or contact them via in-platform chat.
Common questions
Q: Why can't I paste the Triptease script directly into Mews?
A: Mews does not provide a direct field for custom JavaScript. The supported way to add third-party scripts to a Mews booking engine is via GTM, which is why GTM is a prerequisite.
Q: I already have a GTM container on my website — can I reuse it for Mews?
A: Usually yes, if the same container is loaded on your Mews booking engine. Confirm the container ID in Mews matches the one containing your Triptease tag.
Q: How do I confirm the script is working?
A: The quickest way is to use the Test Your Integration tool in the Triptease platform. Go to Settings → Group settings → Integration scripts and use the Test Your Integration section to enter your URL and run the test. If you'd like the Customer Support team to confirm for you, email customersupport@triptease.com or reach out via in-platform chat.
