Accessing Metasearch performance data via BigQuery

What this article covers

This article explains how to access Triptease Metasearch performance data through the cross-channel data feed and integrate it directly into your business intelligence (BI) tool via BigQuery.

Overview

The Triptease cross-channel data feed lets you pull Metasearch performance metrics directly into your own BI tool, removing the need for manual exports or scheduled Looker reports. It delivers the same metrics and attribution models used in cross-channel reporting, plus Metasearch-specific data such as impression share and budget information. This means you can analyze Triptease data alongside other performance data sources in one place, in your own environment.

How it works

Triptease exposes your Metasearch performance data as a dataset in Google BigQuery. Once your hotel is connected, you can query that dataset directly or pipe it into whichever BI tool your team uses, such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.

The data feed includes the following:

The BigQuery datasets are fully documented at docs.triptease.io/reporting-data, so your data or analytics team can get up and running without needing to contact Triptease support for schema details.

Getting access

The cross-channel data feed is currently in a limited rollout. To find out whether your hotel is eligible, reach out to your Triptease account manager or contact Triptease support directly.

  1. Contact your Triptease account manager to request access to the cross-channel data feed.

  2. Once access is confirmed, your Triptease account team will provide your BigQuery dataset details and point you to the full dataset documentation.

  3. Share the dataset details with your data or analytics team so they can connect BigQuery to your BI tool of choice.

  4. Query the dataset or build your dashboards directly from the BigQuery data source.

Common questions

Q: Can I get data for channels other than Metasearch through this feed?
A: The data feed currently covers Metasearch only. Triptease plans to expand coverage to additional channels as demand grows, so if you need data for another channel, speak to your account manager.

Q: Do I need to use BigQuery, or can I connect to a different database?
A: The data feed is delivered via Google BigQuery. From BigQuery, you can connect to most major BI tools, including Looker Studio, Tableau, and Power BI, using their native BigQuery connectors.

Q: Is the data in the feed the same as what I see in Triptease reporting?
A: Yes. The performance metrics in the data feed use the same attribution models and definitions as Triptease cross-channel reporting, so figures will be consistent between the two.

Q: How do I get access to this feature?
A: The cross-channel data feed is currently available to a limited number of customers. Contact your Triptease account manager to find out if your hotel is eligible and to request access.
