What this article covers
This article explains what the Triptease web script (tracking code) is, why it matters, and how to install it.
Overview
The Triptease web script (sometimes called a tracking code) is invisible to your website visitors. It collects data about which pages they visit, which Triptease products they see and interact with, whether they search on your booking engine, and whether they complete a booking. The script is essential for all Triptease products to work correctly.
The script must be installed across:
Your website — main hotel page, offers, experiences, rooms, and other content pages
Your booking engine — rooms and rates, checkout, and confirmation pages
How to find your script
You can find the script and installation documentation in the Triptease platform under:
Settings → Group settings → Integration scripts → Integration guide
Our recommended approach is to install the script via a tag manager such as Google Tag Manager (GTM). If you don't already have a GTM container, see How to Create a Google Tag Manager (GTM) Container.
If this is your first time implementing the Triptease script, our Product Implementation Team will guide you through the process.
If you're using this guide because the script has been removed from your site or booking engine, check the install is working using the Test Your Integration tool in the Triptease platform (Settings → Group settings → Integration scripts → Test Your Integration) — paste in your URL and run the test. If you'd prefer the Customer Support team to confirm for you, email customersupport@triptease.com or contact them via in-platform chat.

Common questions
Q: Why does the script need to be on every page?
A: Triptease tracks the full guest journey — from first visit through to booking. Missing pages create gaps in data and can prevent on-site products from displaying.
Q: Will the script slow down my website?
A: No — the script is loaded asynchronously and is heavily optimised for performance. See the related article on Triptease's impact on website performance for details.
Q: How do I confirm the script is working?
A: The quickest way is to use the Test Your Integration tool in the Triptease platform.
Go to Settings → Group settings → Integration scripts
Use the Test Your Integration section to enter your URL and run the test.
If you'd like the Customer Support team to confirm for you, email customersupport@triptease.com or reach out via in-platform chat.
